What services are provided?
· Facility provides
o Arrangements for one or more regularly scheduled health-related services
o Arrangements for two or more regularly scheduled supportive services
· Third-party services
o Home health care agency may be used to provide assistance with activities of daily living or medical services
Who can be admitted?
· Based upon the contract a resident enters into with the facility
Who is inappropriate?
· Based upon the contract the resident enters into with the facility
What training is required for direct care staff?
· Emergency safety
· Reporting maltreatment of vulnerable minors or adults
· Observing, reporting, and documenting client status and the care or services provided
· Basic infection control
Is nurse staffing required?
· A registered nurse must conduct the training in many of the above topics
Is any public payment available?
· Yes, the Medicaid program may pay for assisted living services through a Medicaid Home and Community Based Services Waiver
