·        Assisted Living Center

 

What services are provided?

·        Facility provides

o       Assistance with activities of daily living

o       Nursing supervision and intermittent nursing care

o       Medication assistance

o       Assistance with transfer and/or ambulation

·        Third party services

o       Residents are allowed to contract with a home health agency

 

Who can be admitted?

·        Need for assistance with activities of daily living or unscheduled nursing care

 

Who is inappropriate?

·        Needs the facility cannot meet

·        Need for physical or chemical restraints

·        Pose a threat to self or others

 

What training is required for direct care staff?

·        First aid and CPR

·        An approved Department of Health training program on medication administration

o       Required only for unlicensed staff administering medication

 

Is any public payment available?

·        According to the 2007 Assisted Living State Regulatory Review, there is no Medicaid Home and Community Based Services Waiver at this time; however, proposals to provide this program have been studied.
