Critical Issues in Assisted Living: Who's In, Who's Out, and Who's Providing the Care
Assisted living rules vary greatly from one state to another. This report analyzes the assisted living laws of all fifty states, focusing on the issues most important to consumers. The report is written by the National Senior Citizens Law Center.
The "Who's In" section discusses the types of resident conditions that can be accommodated by a state's assisted living facilities. This includes, for example, whether a person can live in an assisted living facility if she cannot walk, or if she is terminally ill.
The "Who's Out" section examines each state's allowable reasons for eviction from an assisted living facility. The "Who's Providing the Care" section looks at each state's standards for facility employees.
