At the request of the state Attorney General, a Texas state court issued a temporary restraining order and imposed a temporary trustee at an assisted living facility.   State of Texas v. James W. Jewel, d/b/a Amberwood Care Center, Cause No. D-1-GU-07-001546 (Texas District Court, Travis County, July 20, 2007).  The Attorney General described a recent inspection of the facility by the Texas Department of Aging Services as uncovering “a complete breakdown” at the facility, with the 42 residents subjected to grossly inadequate medical care and unsanitary conditions.
