The Emeritus Corporation, a Seattle-based nationwide provider of assisted living services, announced the completion of its acquisition of 41 assisted living communities, with 3723 units in 17 states, from the real estate investment trust Health Care Property Investors, Inc.  Emeritus describes itself as operating, or having an interest in, 206 communities, with 16,777 units and 20,441 residents in 34 states.  “Emeritus Completes the Purchase of 41 Communities” (Press Release, Aug. 15, 2007)
