·         Assisted Living Facility

 

What services are provided?

·        24-hour on-site direct care staff

·        Assistance with activities of daily living

·        Nursing assessment, health monitoring, and routine nursing tasks

·        Access to additional services for medically related care and social work services

·        Medication administration

 

Who can be admitted?

·        Each facility will use its professional judgment in determining who may be admitted

 

Who is inappropriate?

·        Must be refused admission

o       Each facility will use its professional judgment in determining who may not be admitted

·        Can be evicted

o       Imminent danger to self or others

o       Inability of facility to meet resident’s needs with available support services

o       Failing to abide by agreements

 

What training is required for direct care staff?

·        CPR and first aid training

·        Minimum six hours annual in-service training

 

Is nurse staffing required?

·        Licensed nursing staff must be available seven days a week

 

Is any public payment available?

·        Yes, the Medicaid program may pay for assisted living services through a Home and Community Based Services Waiver
